When the show began, it looked like a sin,
We pay tonnes of money, so we can all get in,
Get so close to god, we take over his shrine,
Pose….next to him, be christened-‘divine’
So very easy this path seemed to be,
I was forced to accept this discrepancy,
Was it wealth that ruled? both god and me?
I wondered how? when…… suddenly!
I saw a light……
This man who led us, was in some kind of trance,
He was speaking to the rock-an ecstatic romance.
With humility he thanked for the excess he got,
Both happiness and sorrows-he had ignorantly sought.
The cynic in me was then assured,
It wasn’t for us, but for him, HE was lured.
I was glad I was there, not just to join the clan,
I was glad I was there, i could see god in man…
When in silence i stood….looking at his face,
I did find God-shining, a mirror image….
